Medical Scribing Course is a 10 month 3 level Certification Program

Level 1

Duration tentatively 4 months

This level requires the students to have successfully completed a minimum of 616 hours of training at STARMEDIX Institute, Bangalore to be eligible to attempt the First Level Certification test (FLC Test).

Level 2

Duration tentatively 4 months

The training for the second level certification happens at recruiting partner’s facility in Bangalore. During this period, the students shall be paid Rs. 12,000/- per month.

Level 3

Duration tentatively 2 months

This level which is also known as “Shadowing” happens at the recruiting partner’s facility located in Bangalore. The stipends paid to students during this period shall be Rs. 12,000/- per month.

 

What Do Medical Scribes Do?

Medical Scribes specialize in medical data entry into an electronic medical record system and in instituting efficient workflow process, thus increasing the physician’s capacity to provide direct patient care, performing medical procedures and communicating with nursing staff, more efficiently.

A medical scribe is essentially a virtual personal assistant to the physician; performing documentation in the EHR, gathering information for the patient’s visit, and partnering with the physician to deliver the pinnacle of efficient patient care.

Who is a Medical Scribe?

A medical scribe is a person who assists in documenting the interaction between the doctor-patient in order to increase the efficiency of the doctor. When a medical scribe works from a remote facility/offsite, they are termed as virtual medical scribes.

Who can join Medical Scribe course?

The eligibility criteria for joining medical scribe course is:
i> The candidate should have completed his 12th.
ii> Should be minimum 18 year of age.
iii> Have basic computer knowledge.
iv> Have minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute.
v> Excellent communication skills – both written and spoken English.

I have completed my 12th exam. Can I start my career as medical scribe after 12th?

Yes, students who have completed their 12th can start their career as medical scribe. In fact it is recommended to join the course after 12th so that the students can kickstart their career in medical field as soon as possible.

I have opted for non-Medical stream (PCM or Commerce) in 12th. Am I eligible to join the course?

Yes, people who are from non-Medical stream are also eligible to join the medical scribe course. Though the students who opted for medical stream will have little advantage since they would be familiar with few medical terminologies.

I have completed my graduation. Is it possible for me to enroll for the Medical Scribe course?

Yes, people from any undergraduate program – B. Tech, B. Pharmacy, B. Science, BAMS, BHMS, BDS as well as Diploma Graduates can join the medical scribe course.

What is the total duration of the Medical Scribe Training Program?

The duration period of the course is 9 months. The training period is divided into 3 levels with each level of duration 4 month, 2 month, 3 months. The trainee scribes are also paid a stipend during the training period.

Do you provide placements after the Medical Scribe Training Program?

We have always held the record for 100% placement post completion of the training program. In case the student is not placed within 30 days of completion of the training program, we will refund the complete tuition fees. NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

What will be my salary after completing the course?
